"Friends for Hire" is the cooperative mode of Far Cry 5 that allows two players to team up a and take on the game’s campaign in cooperative play and is restricted to players from your friends list, with no random matchmaking. Another player can join the open world shooter as soon as the tutorial is completed. The hired friend will appear as a custom player character with dropping and out with full voice-chat support.
Only the host can accept missions, recruit and command Guns for Hire and keep the game progress. The player that joined the host will be able to keep the cash, guns, perks or loot they acquire.
Another feature is that Far Cry 5 keeps players together by teleporting one closer to the other if they wander too far apart.
